To help people feel safe, empowered and in control when handling their cattle, in a way that fosters a positive human-animal relationship and;
To champion and promote a quieter way of handling cattle. A way that sees the subtle signs given by the animals noticed, recognised and acted upon, thus reducing negative emotional states resulting from confusion or fear.
Our Approach
We believe that humane handling of stock promotes good welfare, and in a modern approach to low stress stock handling, our method sees the handler adopt a caregiver role, resulting in a holistic approach to handling cattle that incorporates both the wellbeing of the animal and handler, improving safety, productivity, profitability and job satisfaction.
In a nutshell – less stress, less disease, less injuries and less anti-microbial use, more flow, more positive movement, more rest and more quality outcomes.

Alexandra Snape
Chelsea Livestock Services is a small boutique livestock handling consultancy. Headed up by Alex, the business offers clients the opportunity to take advantage of the experience Alex has gained through time spent working within extensive and intensive livestock production systems.
Founded in 2018, Chelsea Livestock Services initially offered onboard stockperson services to the livestock export industry. However, an unrelenting curiosity about livestock handling has led to the development of a new business model – a cattle handling consultancy, specialising in intensive systems.
Alex grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne with a passion for cattle and agriculture from a young age. With no farmers in the family, she high tailed it to Queensland at the completion of secondary school to attend Longreach Pastoral College.
In the two decades since completing Ag college, Alex has worked all over Australia in many different positions within agriculture, protein production and mining. When she isn’t sailing with cattle to China or driving road trains, she can be found travelling in her caravan with her two dogs, Esky and Winnie, singing, writing and dreaming up ways she can make a living from the things she loves doing – training animals and teaching people.
